AWA Camps

AWA Georgia Youth Camps

For Wrestlers Going Into Grades 2–8. Limited spots available at each camp.

At AWA Georgia, our vision includes offering structured youth wrestling camps designed to help athletes continue improving while enjoying the process.

Our camps will focus on learning new techniques, building systems, and developing strong fundamentals in a positive and fun environment. We believe young wrestlers should stay involved in the sport during the summer — even if they are also playing baseball, football, or other sports.

These camps are built to keep kids engaged with wrestling and involved in the sport even if its just for a few days in the summer!

Seasonal camp announcements will be released throughout the year.

For updates on upcoming camp dates or to be added to our interest list, contact us directly.

Future AWA Georgia Camp Series

As AWA Georgia continues to grow, we will be introducing specialized camps focused on specific positions and competitive systems.

🔥 Funky Fresh: Our premiere offensive creativity camp. Athletes will learn scramble systems and the basics to scrambling to not only defend but look to score!

🔒 Alcatraz: A top-position focused camp working on turns, riding systems, pressure, and building dominance from the most controlling position in wrestling.

🎩 Houdini: Escape and reversal mastery. Wrestlers will develop the skills and techniques they need to never be ridden again!

👑 Takedown King: Neutral position dominance. Focused on setups, finishes, re-attacks, and building confidence on your feet.

These camps are part of AWA Georgia’s long-term development plan and will be announced as seasonal training opportunities become available.

Testimonials

Weston is an amazing coach and mentor throughout my junior and senior year of high school. He helped me define my style of wrestling as well as have a great pre match strategy. He helped me with my confidence not only in wrestling but in life as well!

Weston is highly intelligent, hardworking, and extremely dedicated to his craft. More importantly, he genuinely cares about the kids he coaches. He takes the time to understand each athlete, meets them where they are, and pushes them to grow—not just as competitors, but as people. His commitment to doing things the right way and putting athletes first is evident in everything he does. During his time at AWA, Weston showed a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and improve. He approaches coaching with humility, passion, and attention to detail, which makes him highly effective and well respected by athletes, parents, and fellow coaches alike.

Weston has helped my son tremendously, not only from a technical, but mental standpoint as well. His emphasis on technique and long term outlook will pay dividends for anyone who trains with him!

Meet Coach Weston Wichman

I started wrestling at 5 years old at my local youth club and loved it. Wrestling has been a huge part of my life and has given me friends, opportunities, mentors, and many life lessons. I really fell in love with wrestling around my Junior year of high school. I decided to give full trust with my training to Ben Askren and never looked back. After wrestling Div. 1 for four years at the University of Chattanooga I moved back to Wisconsin to give back to the club that shaped me and opened my own Askren Wrestling Academy where I ran that for 2 years. My wife and I moved back down to Georgia to be closer to family and I knew I wasn’t done with wrestling though. I’m so excited to be able to bring the same love for wrestling and systems AWA teaches to Georgia and can’t wait to help as many kids have the same great experience I had with wrestling!

Credentials:
-WIAA State Finalist
-2x State medalist
-3 Year Starter for UTC
-SoCon Freshman of the year
-UTC Team Captain
-Career HS record of 114-17

AWA Website FAQ’s

    • A: You can purchase 3, 6, or 12 Month Memberships
      • i.e. You can elect to pay all upfront or monthly

    • After your initial membership term, we’re happy to work with you to adjust your plan so it fits your schedule and needs.
      • Please note: we do require a minimum 3-month initial membership. This is because we want to make a true investment in your athlete’s growth, and it’s difficult to do that with only a short-term, one-month commitment.
